Changing Lives for Good

Food to the Hungry

The last three years since Covid hit have been particularly challenging for our International partners in India, Pakistan, Nepal, Kenya and Uganda.

I had regular calls asking for help as people had the combined effect of unusual weather conditions (flooding in India and Pakistan), crop failure and insect plagues in East Africa and landslides in Nepal affected by the monsoon. This combined with poor organisation, corruption and Government failures to effectively manage the Covid crisis resulting in tribal peoples, slum dwellers, refugees, those living in remote areas and low caste workers, the vulnerable, elderly and orphans not having any food to eat.

On the positive side, we did what we could, and our supporters enabled us to get basic family food packs out containing dall, rice, cooking oil, vegetables, salt, sugar, wheat flour and maize which would feed a family for about a week. We established 15 regional centres in 5 nations managed by known and trusted partners.

Big thanks from me, Bruce. We really did save lives and continue to do so!

The Sindh area of Pakistan was hit by devastating floods destroying the homes and livelihoods of thousands. Our partners in Karachi took a van full of aid to help clothe and feed some of the communities hit badly.
